The Studio

An Unusual Day Out in Brisbane – What’s On in the Studio …

Mandrels-for-Workshop

The Easter holidays seem such a long time ago now … The children are back to working hard at school and the weekends are filled with sporting fixtures (not to mention the inevitable washing!). During the weekdays this has given me plenty of time to dedicate to Jocale Design … with time on my hands I am delighted to have at long last opened the studio to the public for the first time!

Unusual Day Out Brisbane

The all new Jocale Design “Art Glass Bead Making Taster Workshops” have given me the opportunity to share a little of my passion for glass and bead making with some lovely ladies. The Workshops are not designed to be a lesson, but more as an opportunity for people to try something different – call it an unusual day out if you like.

What I will say is that these mornings have been very enjoyable for all!

With groups limited to no more than four participants this has given everybody who wanted to a chance to have a go themselves …

Having a go at making beads

… proudly taking home the beads they have made …

Beads made at the workshop

The best parts for me have been passing on some of the ‘secrets’ of glass bead making, … seeing each participant develop some basic bead making skills … and hearing what these ladies had to say about their morning in the studio. Here’s some of their feedback:

“Thanks Hilary for an enjoyable morning. I wouldn’t have believed I could make such lovely beads. The morning tea was yummy too :-)”

“Thank you so much for the wonderful ‘Taster Day’. I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to see my ‘dotty bead’.”

My response to that is simple – thanks for coming … I’m so glad you all had a good time – I loved having you here!

I am now really looking forward to the next workshops and sharing some more of my world of art glass beads with you …..

P.S. If you would like to join me you can Book Your Place Here – I would love to see you!
